Book an appointmentWhat is breast filling or lipofilling?
Lipofilling is the transfer of fat from one part of the body to another. The fat is removed by liposuction and reinjected to augment and reshape the breast. The fat can be taken from the stomach, thighs, knees, hips, depending on your morphology and your choices.
When is filling appropriate?
- Pour l’augmentation du volume des seins.
- Pour corriger les asymétries et les malformations.
- Pour rectifier certains défauts des prothèses – les masquer quand elles sont visibles dans le décolleté, par exemple.
Modalities of the intervention for a filling
The procedure lasts from 1h30 to 2h30. The anesthesia is general. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis or over 24 hours (overnight hospitalization).
There is almost no pain in the breasts; the collection areas may be a little painful (as with any liposuction). The dressings are kept for 3 to 5 days.
A panty or a compression bodysuit must be worn at the end of the procedure to limit the formation of hematoma on the liposuction areas. Rest and cessation of sports are recommended for 1 to 5 days.
The advantages of filling
- Breast augmentation is always natural and stable over time.
- There is no foreign body: no shell, no monitoring of the prostheses or re-intervention to renew the prostheses.
- There is no visible scar (the fat is introduced through micro-incisions of 1 mm).
The disadvantages of filling
- Some women do not have enough excess fat to increase their breast size.
- The technique only allows for moderate increases, and sometimes two fillings are required to obtain the desired volume.
Possible complications after a filling
- The fillings sometimes generate the formation of small benign palpable cysts, easily identified on ultrasound. Their presence can nevertheless disturb the clinical examination and lead to additional examinations.Liposuction can cause skin irregularities.
